kitty totoro

Kitty Totoro.

Today I went to Andrea’s baby shower held at Greet & Michael’s in Half Moon Bay. They have a kitty named Basil who I just couldn’t stop taking photos of cuz he’s soo cool looking:

He kinda looks like a mix between King Totoro and the Catbus (watch out for the midi) from My Neighbor Totoro. Actually that last link there is a great Hayao Miyazaki site that has all his films, FAQ’s and info on every movie, etc.. so if you’re a fan (or curious) check it out. If you’re not a fan, go rent the DVD’s!! Miyazaki’s work is AMAAAAAAAZING.

friday night was sooooooo fun

Friday night was sooooooo fun.

Seriously some of the most fun I’ve had in a LONG time!! My friend Tom & I went to see Matt Nathanson (and the most talented Cellist around, Matt Fish!) – and they were absolutely AMAZING. Tom & I are long time fans of Matt Nathanson, and they’ve been out touring around the country, so it was great to see them play SF again! You could tell the crowd was just overflowing with love for them… we all could have stayed there jamming for several more hours! Matt’s voice is just getting better & better (not that it needed to improve, but I can tell he’s been singing his butt off! :) and his lyrics are dreamy. mmm!

After the show I cruised over to Zeitgeist (awesome bar) for Jish’s bday celebration/Sarah Hatter’s going away party, where I met up with some very welcoming and darling friends (jane, her roomate sarah, birthday boy jish, ev, noah, chris and more)! And met the soon to be departed Sarah for the first time, who is a peach – and I’m bummed she’s leaving cuz oh boy could that girl and I stir up some trouble in this town!

p.s. for anyone who snapped photos that night –

I wanna see!!!! email

Matt & his adorable Irish friend David Hopkins met us at the bar, too & I’m so glad they did because they added a very sweet lil’ sparkle to the evening.

The rest of the night is vaulted in my memory banks forever…. so much laughter and joy…. I couldn’t have asked for a more kick ass Friday night!!

Saturday morning Jane, Sarah & I went to breakfast, and then over to Jee’s adorable apartment where she had quite the spread of yummy fruits, cheese, breads & mamosas ready for our “pick out a dress for kat to wear to the B&W ball” gathering :) And THEN (much to my surprise that I was so mobile after such a rockin night) Jee & I went to a BBQ in beautiful Tilden Park! I met Wes and Rebecca (awesome couple) & lots of nice people at the BBQ. It was gorgeous weather!!

ok i just have to say…

Ok, I just have to say I’m so into Fu Manchu right now. After Jee mentioned they were playin at the Bottom of the Hill Friday night, I decided it’s about time I listen to this “fu man chu” and download some songs! I like em… I’m listening to them know and I really dig it. I’ve just totally been missing the boat on this one!!

Kinda like how years ago I used to wonder what those “THE” Offspring CD’s were, cuz by the time I got Offspring (Smash) in college & got way into them – it didn’t say “THE” Offspring… and then when I asked somebody, they said they were two different bands – and I believed them!

The good news is that later in life I got a few of the older Offspring CD’s and enjoyed them.

Something else is that I used to listen to Flaming Lips a ton about 9 years ago. My first year in college, I hung out with these two guys (and I have such a bad memory – I can’t remember their names!) but we used to hang out all the time… and I’d go over there and we’d listen to Flaming Lips… they loved em – and knew all the words. I was like “eh” they’re ok. I think these guys had seen them live – and I wished they had dragged me to a show 9 years ago! Because what I saw lastnight totally *rawked* and now I love them more than ever. thank you, goodbye.

I know it’s random… but when I moved I realized that under my sink I had TONS of toners, conditioners, lotions, origins samples, and more that I wasn’t using! Oh – and a few bra’s that I never wear – and you gotta figure there’s women out there that’d be psyched on a new victoria’s secret bra! So, girls in San Francisco – round up your goodies and donate here:
