my fabulous models (aka friends & family)

My lil’ niece is such a light & joy to be around, always so happy, sweet & smiley… not to mention one of the most beautiful baby girls EVER!

I mean look at this lil’ punkin. Can you even stand it? I can’t. :)

Many of you have commented how fabulous the photos are for my new line, including exclamations on how I could have possibly found so many adorable babies. :) Lucky for me I not only have a built-in baby model in the family, but all the other cutie buttons are thanks to my sweet (and also drop-dead gorgeous, see below) sister-in-law who rounded up all her friends & their kiddos one sunny Santa Cruz afternoon.

Plus, she was kind enough to model her hot self for the WilloToons cause, too! Here she is in an embroidered cat power boatneck:

What a knockout, huh? Seriously, my brother is one lucky man.

Thank you Samara, Sylvanna & all the fabulous Mommas & babies who gave me their time & adorableness to me that day!

I’ll post more from the shoot soon… there are some jems!

Announcing our New Eco-Friendly + Organic Line!

New Eco Friendly Baby line

After going to great lengths to find the best & brightest, silky-soft organic cotton, and the most sustainable and eco-conscious silkscreening, we’re proud to announce we have launched our new eco-friendly line!

We’ve expanded our baby line to include gift sets, so now you can couple a cute baby onesie with matching pants and a cap or a bib (yes, we finally have bibs back in stock)!

We’ve also done a mini-redesign to the WilloToons website, updating our press page and making our events section more accessible, as well as adding quick links to our favorite social media websites:

Don’t Forget all our Rockin’ Jewelry for Crafty Ladies!

As much as it can be hard to keep up with my jewelry line, because I hand make every one, I just can’t seem to stop! That said, being one of the Bay Area Coordinators for the Church of Craft helps, as all it takes is one lovely Sunday afternoon, crafting with other creatives, and next thing I know I have a bunch of fabulous new favorite pairs of earrings and necklaces. Check em out!

Know of a store that would be a good fit for the WilloToons line?

We’re very excited to announce that as of August 2009, WilloToons is now accepting Wholesale Applications! If you own and/or know of a store near you that would be a good fit for our line, please let us know! We love to hear feedback of any kind, so we hope you’ll all take a minute to check out the new line, the revamped website and take a minute to tell a friend or five. :)

Thanks for reading & hope you’ve all had a great summer!

Photos from Brooklyn & NY

JD (finally) posted the photos he took from our trip to Brooklyn & NY. They turned out great, as per usual. He’s a talented photographer, with a bad ass camera. He is responsible for all the amazing photos of the babies in my new organic line! They brought a lot of adorable to the table on their own, as you can see… but I was grateful for his help that day.

Anyway, as for his Brooklyn & NY photo set, it’s a tad wild to see them a few months later, with our relationship behind us, but very nice nonetheless. I love life documentation. Take a look:

I have a feeling he’s not done, as he’s big into posting only 10 or so every other day or something. I’m looking forward to seeing what else he’s got up his sleeve (er, on his hard drive).

new haircut!

new 'do, now at the office

Oh hello, originally uploaded by Willo.

My hairdresser – the awesome Paul at Descend Salon – gave me the first cut, chopping about 8 inches off, but gave me a 2 weeks window after the first cut to decide if I wanted to go shorter… And I did!

So you can see here the final outcome, and really what I wanted the whole time. That said, I was glad for the interim get-used-to-short-hair-again cut. It was like 2 different haircuts within a week! :)

Check out this photo set to see more.

Wine Country Camping

Further proof that my life & my friends are AWESOME: From August 7th-9th a bunch of us went camping at Sugarloaf Ridge in Sonoma… or as we call it, Wine Country Camping. Here’s the evidence:

Saturday we couldn’t get our morning campfire started, and because our huge campsight had no shade (no fun in that sun & heat), we simply went the 3 miles down into Glen Ellen for brunch & then went for wine tastings all day! After a full fun day, we came back & feasted by the fire, sang songs, played board games & passed out by midnight.

It was so relaxing to get away! I love camping.

seeking help finding/writing grants

I’m looking for someone who might be able to help me with some grantwriting. Well, even more specifically, someone who can help me find some good grants to apply to! (And believe me, I would just Google it, but unfortunately this is an area where it’s extremely hard to search & get quality results.)

I have been looking into applying for a microloan, but feel that between being a woman-owned small business & the income range I’m in (aka not very much :) I am ripe for a grant right now. I’ve been in business around 2 years now, but have been bootstrapping it the entire time, and need capital to take my business to the next level.

In addition to having hard data on my product sales/success thus far, I feel there are also many ways I’ve contributed to the small business community — both for crafters/designers and small business owners of any kind. I’ve not only been able to employ others with my business, but I’ve been able to bring on interns who have had the opportunity to learn what it takes to run a small business like this – all of which are great for the economy. Plus, I have a whole new organic line of baby gift sets launching in the shop soon, too, so there’s the green/eco-conscious angle as well!

Let me know if any of you know where I should start and/or who I could talk to for some guidance.

Thanks pals!

you were waiting for this one…

I know you’ve all been dying DYING to see what I look like when I’m eating a cracker with cheese at the beach, huh? Well, now you know! haha.

Actually, this photo just cracks me up, but is one of the few fun ones taken last night.

Here’s another of me & my awesome friend Alex, who just flew in for the launch of the Whuffaoke tour (Karaoke across America)!

The question you should be asking is why are you drinking champagne & having fancy cheese & cracker snacks at the beach? More importantly, how did you get there? A plane? A boat? A LIMO, PER CHANCE?

Actually yes. See, on top of it being Tara Hunt’s bday, she’s also taking off for the Whuffaoke Tour & moving back to Canada (!). So her sweet friends Karen & Emma got all of us girls together (uh, and Alex :) for a fun ride around the city in a limo, before a late dinner at Home. Good times!

girls in the limo for tara's bday & send-off back to canada!

Here are more photos (& even a vid in my set):

Emma should have some photos up soon, too.

Limos are kind of overrated, but it was fun to spend time with my girls, and you can never have enough champagne & fancy snacks! :p Thanks again Karen & Emma. And Happy Bday, Tara!
