“As a secondary topic, I would just like to briefly revive my rant about people who don’t watch TV and feel the need to tell you that. Some of the not-watching TV people are just as bad as the Jesus people with the constant mentioning of their non-relevant belief system.
1. Normal person says something about the weather. Insane Lifestyle Mentioner says that it’s a bright and sunny day because his relationship with Jesus Christ makes it sunny in his heart, and that is where the real true weather is anyway. Normal person nods and leaves the room, secretly wanting to say something like, ‘Hey, Jesus and I had a long talk the other day and he loves you? But as a friend? Like, he cares about you a lot but he think it would be good to see other people? Also, he’d like his sweater back.’
2. Normal person makes a joke about work team being like the A-Team, and references driving the van. Insane Lifestyle Mentioner asks, ‘Was that on TV? Because I don’t own a TV. I haven’t watched TV since I was a child. I have better things to do with my time than sit in front of the television.’ Normal person nods and leaves the room, secretly wanting to bash the ILM over the head with an Urkel doll. Oh you don’t have a TV? Well I don’t have a neurotic need to trumpet my imagined intellectual superiority. All this means is that I can whip your ass in BOTH the ‘Reflexivity in Chomskyan Linguistics’ and the ‘Great One-Liners From Freaks And Geeks’ trivia categories. So step off.

I too hate the “intellectual superiority” people try to front by saying they don’t watch TV. I mean, I don’t have any problem with people who don’t watch TV, but honestly, I hate people that spin it as this *evil* thing! I actually really like a few shows and enjoy relaxing, and being entertained by some of the crazy (Flavor of Love comes to mind – what a trainwreck! ha!) & super funny (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – f*in hysterical!) shows on TV. And I think the dramas (E.R., Grey’s Anatomy) really make you think, and might even teach you a little bit somehow about life, relationships, etc.
Granted, I am NOT into people who get home from work & flip the tube on to drone out all night. And, as you all know, I’m a huge believer in TiVo – aka not being a slave to TV & being able to watch what you want, when you want it… kinda like DVDs. I’m just sayin’ skip the high & mighty “I don’t watch TV” crap with me. Go boast somewhere else. Thank you. Goodbye.

Friday night, after having a few drinks w/ friends @ Lucky 13, I went out on the town w/ Helly, Ash & Kristin as sort of a last hurrah before they take off back to Ireland. I have so much fun w/ these crazy kids & truly hope I can go visit them in Ireland some day!

About 23 of us hit Snakes on a Plane lastnight and it was SO fun!!! The movie is seriously hilarious… I even screamed out loud a few times! haha! The best part was the crowd – it was like one huge party! One of the best movie going experiences I’ve ever had. AWESOME!

As some of you may or may not know, I work with a group of teens every week who publish a website called Bamboozled.org. Well, Wednesday night was the last meeting for a few of our seniors who are heading off to college, so we had a party! I ordered us all pizza & brought my button maker… it was a huge hit! They made many more than just BAM buttons… see the full photo album for more of their creations!
The above graphics are what came of me throwing together a quick file & printing it out on my color printer before I left for the meeting*… and I used some of the illustrations out of my sketchbook pages I posted the other day! The wolf-man** & bunny are off of this one and here’s the star balloons.
*In doing so, I used CS2’s live trace for the first time & I’m in love! Illustrator CS2 & I are going to elope… it’s the best!

This cool couple got married @ City Hall, went to Italy for a month on honeymoon & then came back to throw a huge party. SO the way to do it!!
They wanted a hip/fun flyer, somewhat dance club style, so they handed me a few photos & the party details & this is what I designed. Fun little project!

About 6 months back I discovered SonicLiving, and since then have used it to manage my events calendar (that I had previously done with Yahoo Cal). The creator/founder of SL, and now our friend, Gabe, has been really awesome about listening to Ali & I’s various requests & feedback. And since I had forgone Yahoo Cal, one of my biggest requests was for them to create a calendar format I could publish & anyone could see. So SonicLiving going live (beta) has *finally* made this a reality for me! yay!!
It looks great Gabe & Ryan! Thank you sooo much for all your kick ass work on this! (Honestly I think I’m their biggest fan!! :) I heart SonicLiving!

I’m lazy about scanning in sketches, so today – somewhat in honor & inspired by 111 Minna’s Sketch Tuesdays – I decided I’d try to snap a few photos of them, as a quick & easy way to get them into my computer & posted. It was quite fun to do… as I have SO many sketches laying in stacks of journals around here. I need to do more with them, so this is my first step.

Sunday my friend Sharon hosted a clothing swap & a bunch of us girls enjoyed tasty mimosas, quiche (thanks hez!), cupcakes (thanks misty!) and tried on a bunch of clothes! fun! I only snapped a few photos outside right before we all left… uh, cuz there was too much nakedness when we were trying on clothes inside! :)
Afterwards I headed over to see the peeps gathered in Dolores Park… another beautiful Sunday in the Mission!

Monday night Nick & I had an amazingly delicious dinner @ Sushi Groove South & then hit the show @ Bottom of the Hill with Ted, Misty & the gang. I loved The Living Blue’s set.. both bands are great – check em out!

A few of us hit the San Francisco Regional Air Guitar Championships a few months back and got to see the rockstar above win, which meant he got to travel to New York for the National Championship… and holy shit, HE WON!!!
