i believe in a thing called love

things I am powerless against:
– hunky arms on men. yumm.
– aquarius and libras. i heart you. come find me. let’s make out.

testing out this beta widget thing alice is working on….. so ya, uh… let me know what it comes up with for you – are you compatible w/ me? boy, let’s hope so! haha :)

UPDATE: hi. I took down the widget, even though it inspired some awesome comments from you all! woohoo! :)

I believe in astrology, but that one was a little extreme for my taste. I recommend astrologyzone.com for horoscopes (ooh & it’s a new month now, so I can go read the new one that’s posted! yay! :p), but also check out the compatibility “Matchmaker by Sign” thing on the front page. There you can REALLY see if we’re a match (I’m a Gemini). :p

Alright… back to work (well, after I read my new horoscope).

Ryan & I, being the rockstars that we are, opted to walk down to the Hemlock from there, stopping off for a shot of Fernet @ Bigfoot, naturally. :)

*partying superheros*

It’s Aliiii!! so cute!

We picked up Miss Ali on the corner & headed to the Hemlock to meet up with the rest of our peeps for “Erik & Lele’s unofficial RoShamBo tournament”! Check out Erik’s list of roshambo rules… he’s hilarious! Needless to say, it was super fun, the drinks were flowing & overall it was awesome to see my peeps! yay!

View all my photos from lastnight! And view Buzz’s album, and Aubrey’s, too! FUN!

HUG IT OUT!

Can you believe that I had never heard of this fabulous term until lastnight!?

So, appropriately, there was a lot of practicing of this very valuable therapeutic modality. We hugged it out… aaall of it! And it was awesome.

p.s. I love Buzz’s comment on this photo he took of us “They should use this for the officlal “show ho” Christmas cards.” hahaa. totally!

working hard, working out

This week’s been awesome productive. I was IMing w/ a friend about it yesterday, how I’ve been getting stuff checked off my to do list that’s been on there for months! SO STOKED! And he replied “nothing beats that feeling, except maybe orgasm…. MAYBE.” and I replied, “ya, seriously. The two are practically equal for me. haha” I seriously get off on being productive!!

Truly though, this week *life is in order* and it feels great. I’ve been working really hard all day every day, and working out hard every day all week, too. Between weights at the beginning of the week, a relatively intense yoga class and cardio on all the other days around that, I’ve been feeling sore, fit and alive. SO AWESOME.

Unlike last week’s party marathon, this week I only went out Thursday night & Saturday night… both just having a nice dinner out amounting to maybe 3 drinks total each night. yay!

Me & my good friend Rachel @ the LAC: Rachel used to live here & we were really close about 3 years ago,
but she’s moved to San Diego since then & was just up here visiting! It was good to see her again! xoxo

Lastnight, while everyone else was Consumating at Promsumating (can’t wait to see those photos! :), Holly I were in Oakland, first having a delicious dinner at Luka’s Taphouse… I highly recommend it!

For starters I had the chioggia & golden beet salad w/ arugula, toasted walnuts, pt reyes blue cheese & a muscatel-walnut vinaigrette (yumm) and Holly splurged and ordered chicken liver paté w/ walnuts & balsamic figs and a cheese plate with both a blue and one other one, I can’t remember which. Both were amazing though of course.. you can hardly go wrong with cheese! :) For a main course she had the grilled creekstone all natural black angus ribeye steak w/ grilled asparagus, roasted potatoes, pickled shallots, shaved reggiano & extra virgin olive oil and I had the grilled yellowtail jack on grilled squash puree w/ sautéed spinach, roasted tomato coulis & black olive tapenade, which was SO delicious I could literally have it every single day and never tire of it! yummm!

Holly has a favorite drink there, called the Green Hornet. I was pretty excited to try it, mostly because I love tequila, but it turned out to be a bit too sweet for me. Still, what a pretty green, huh?

Green Hornet @ Luka’s Taphouse: herradura silver tequila, cilantro-mint infused, simple syrup,
fresh squeezed lime & a splash of ginger beer, served on the rocks w/ a jalapeno rubbed sugared rim

After dinner we hit Nacho Libre @ the Parkway: HILARIOUS!!!! I love Jack Black so much!! We were cracking up the whole time. I got home around 11:45 and contemplated stopping by Prom to say hi, but after a full day of a workout & working and then dinner and the movie, I was wiped out. I read a little of the book I’m reading, and was conked out by 12:30! The best part of that was that I was up feeling wide awake and refreshed at 8:30am & took a hike up the hill! Gorgeous day out already.

OK, I’m off to make some breakfast, get a bit more work done today & then I’m headed down to Santa Cruz for a little family gathering/celebration for my brother & Samara’s engagement! yay! Have a wonderful Sunday everybody!

p.s. there’s a few more photos from these various events in my July 2006 album.

I dreamt we went to Iceland!!

so that means we must go! Here was the dream:

A bunch of us (definitely Misty & Ted because they played major roles in the dream) were like, in High School or something (ha!), and during “lunch” I went to the computer lab & bought my tickets! ha! I remember thinking afterwards that I shouldn’t buy things online while intoxicated (haha – at school? :p) but regardless felt the need to find Misty & Ted quick to tell them I went for it and that they needed to hurry & buy the same tickets so we could all go!

Next thing I know – we’re in Iceland! wooooo! We were walking down the street and there were wild Bengal tigers walking around – ha! (you know, foreign countries, all kinds of crazy things happen!) Well that wasn’t the end of it either – my major motion picture dreams are nuts… so in this plaza in front of our hotel there was a huge black kitty laying there smiling and swishing it’s tail around peacefully and happy! I wish I could remember more details about this, but I just remember thinking, “man, Iceland is so cool!” hahaa.

As far as bands it was like we were friends with some of the ones on tour and so we were backstage or in a room with some of them at one point, and we’d heard that Tom Petty (hi, totally because someone Dodgeball’d about Tom Petty lastnight! :p) had DIED. So, as we’re sitting in this room, I start talking about how tragic that is, because I had just seen him a few days ago (I guess he was playing the festival, too?) and how I felt so fortunate to have seen him so close to the time before he died. And next thing I know he walks in & is like, “no it was all a hoax!” haha.

At this point I’m lying on this couch, feeling really tired because, you know, being fabulous at music festivals for days on end is HARD. And he lays down next to me, all spooney like, and says “but you know what is dead? my music career.” HHAHAHAA. And we start having this conversation about how he has 4 kids (but hilariously he says something to the effect that some of them were out of drunkenness – haha) and how will he ever support them now, etc. But at that point we were both so sleepy we started dozing off. A bit later though we were up & he introduced me to his wife and she was one of those daisy duke type of girls who hangs out in cowboy bars with low cut shirts tied in knots under her tits (like a crop). And he insists I feel her boobs, so I do (haha) and I said, “wow are those real?” and she said yes, and Tom was all proud. hahaa. And at that point I tell them this story about how I had this idea to commemorate him with something that had to do with the Raconteurs, I’m not sure – something like “RacPetty” – but it’d be pronounced “Rawk-Petty” because of the pronunciation of the Raconteurs, so in my dream I thought I was all clever. hahaa.

Anyway, I think that was pretty much my dream – but hello! We were IN ICELAND! We’re SO GOING!!! :)

we’re rockers. we rock out.

My friend just IM’d me, “Everyone you know, who I met, has a Masters in Rock and a Doctorate in Out.” hahaa. aaww yaaa!

UPDATE: Speaking of, peeps, we’re so going to the Iceland Airwaves Festival in Oct, 2006 and then the Oxegen Festival in Ireland in July, 2007 – right?! :) Can we please just travel around seeing music around the globe all the time!? *sigh* that’s my dream! :p

look what misty brought me!

Jumpin in the shower now to go meet them for dinner @ a Siam Thai restaurant and then we’re all hitting the Raconteurs show at the Warfield – wooohoo!
