I’m really stoked to see An Inconvenient Truth. Not sure if you know, but Al Gore is doing some great work waking up the government and the general public (who hopefully will then in turn urge our goverment to wake up!).

It’s such a great title, because it’s SO true. It’s inconvenient that I can’t (or really shouldn’t) leave the fridge door open while I leasurely make lunch. I mean, really, it’d be so much more convenient if I could just leave it open while I poured the dressing on my salad & THEN put it back in the fridge all easy-like, right? It’s inconvenient that I can’t take hot showers for as long as I want to. Or that I have to take that extra minute to turn off the lights before I leave my house. Yup, us Americans are so inconvenienced by having to think about our precious Earth’s resources. So inconvenienced in fact that it’s dying slowly. I can’t wait to see this movie. And more importantly I can’t wait for all the other millions of people, politicians, housewifes and kids to see it. The next decade is going to be a serious wake up call on many levels. This is only the beginning. Go see it!

In the Bay Area it opens @ the Embarcadero on June 2nd. I can’t go that Friday night, but will definitely go that weekend. Anyone wanna join me?! :)

Another great environmental wake up call movie I just spotted on the trailers page: Who Killed the Electric Car?

I’m not the perfect environmentalist by any means, but I am pretty proud that I drive a car that runs on biodiesel, and I compost and recycle religiously. I’ve been really stoked on my composting lately. I’m grateful I live in a city where I can! If your area offers the pickup, but you haven’t known just how to go about it… let me give you the biggest tip of all: Biodegradable Compost Bags! I had some I’d bought at Real Foods years ago, but I noticed now they’re even selling them at Walgreens. Just make yourself a little mini trashcan under your sink (mine’s currently an old brita pitcher) & line it with one of those. You’ll be amazed at how fast it fills up. Granted I cook breakfast, lunch & dinner at home – and eat a ton of salads & fresh veggies… but still. Egg shells, coffee grinds, soiled paper towels, etc. All compostable!

I finished watching the last season of Six Feet Under last weekend and LOVED it! I’m sad to know it’s over forever. But next up I’m hoping to fall in love with Deadwood, Carnival or Battlestar Galactica. (thanks to my awesome friend Mario!)

I watched Match Point and hated it. I had heard some people loved it & others didn’t… and I was definitely the latter. I thought it was such an unoriginal plot line, and I actually fast forwarded through a lot of the end feeling like it was just simply wasting my time.

I currently have: How to Draw a Bunny, Jarhead & Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Tell Me. Not sure when I’ll get around to watching them, but pretty much looking forward to all three.

Oh! I also watched the season finale’s for my favorite shows: LOST, Grey’s Anatomy, E.R., Will & Grace, and Love Monkey (I think that was the last one, right?) and *loved* them all! Pretty much all of them delivered a serious OMG! I enjoyed chatting w/ Misty about LOST lastnight. Misty summed it up well by saying it answered so many questions, but completely opened up soo many new ones! WOW. Hmm, maybe I’ll start getting around to my Netflix’s after all, considering it’s just reruns all summer.

I want to see some movies at the theatre as well… in addition to the IMAX ones I posted about, I’m really looking forward to seeing:

I probably won’t make it to even 1/2 of those in the theatres, not to mention there’s probably a ton more good’ns coming out that I don’t even know about because I don’t watch TV or go enough to see previews… but I love the idea of seeing movies. To me it’s the ultimate way to relax and do nothing. Which I don’t get to do very often at all.

OOH! While looking at the Apple Trailers site I just spotted a few more:

• Peaceful Warrior – holy shit, they’re making a movie of the book! awesome! I read that YEARS ago (high school I think!) and loved it. Later, I got to meet Dan Millman when I was doing a lot of work in that area as an Events Coordinator. My former life. :) During that time (my early 20’s) I also did a lot of work with Shakti Gawain. Anyway – very cool… I’ll see this movie for sure. If you haven’t read the book yet, buy it now and read it before you go see the movie.
• Devil Wears Prada – again I read this book! It was a great fun little read while I was on that cruise in the Bahamas 2 years ago.

It’s amazing. It looks odd to see, but wow… totally heartwarming.

Erik Benson, my roomie at SXSW, has this funny Morale-o-Meter on his site. I had seen it, and we’d talked about it at SXSW – but it wasn’t until Ali & I were chatting about it last week (she’s using it), that I thought maybe I should check it out. So just as a little fun test, sorta to track my moods more than anything, I thought I’d go for it. I’ve got about 6 days under my belt:

Note: this image is obviously continually updating, since I’m way past 6 days now. Click the image to read the exciting daily details. As an aside, pretty funny to see that spike in alcohol from when I had the KazooBQ. In fact, I’m sure I exceeded 10 drinks in that 13 hour stretch. ha!

Anyone wanna go see Deep Sea or Poseidon on IMAX with me at some point?
