wired
jezus, is anyone – or everyone – as wired as I am today? what’s going on!? I’m flying out of my SEAT!!!
Maybe it’s from the awesome phone meeting I had with my 2 fellow creative business women friends this morning.
We were on a roll at the end of last year, having a call every Friday… but now, we’re all very busy & we’ve pulled it back to once or twice/month – but I have truly loved having their help… We discuss everything from contracts to time management to “how to say no”, etc. :) The format is that each of us would have about 15 minutes to talk about what challenges we were facing & report what we were working on… and then at the end we’d go over our goals for the week! It was super helpful to have others to talk to specifically about my business… and it’s fun to support them and hear about their successes too.
Girl Power!!!
Speaking of Inspiring Women in Business, I was just asked to be a featured cover/gallery artist on this site: Empowerment4Women.org Neat, huh? It won’t go up till July/August… so I’ll keep you posted when it does, but wanted to share the site now for those of you out there who are interested.
Also – while I’m at it I’ll post 2 business efficiency tips that us girls talked about this morning:
- TimeSlice: Time Tracking and Billing Application
I use this program to keep track of my hours when I’m working with a client. The Windows software is actually really crappy – the Mac version is way slicker. (I might even try to find a better program, cuz the Win version doesn’t do reporting and organization very well at all.) BUT since I work with all my clients hourly, it is a cool way to have a “stop watch”.It’s set up so that I just hit start, and select my client from a pull down list, along with what type of work I’m doing for them (you set up the program with how the hourly rate is per client for each specific type of work) and I can leave notes about what I worked on, too. Then I cut & paste that out & into my invoices every month.
- Beth recommended Planner Pad. She got one & says she loves it. It seems like a great way to keep your tasks organized… I myself have long daunting lists everywhere – I need to get myself one of these!
Ok, back to work!!
