Career Path: Hiring or Ready for Your Next Move?

Career Planning in 60 Seconds, via eskimon

I know a lot of people in the Bay Area, and with that comes meeting some amazingly talented professionals, as well as impressive startups and organizations that have positions to fill with said talented professionals. The thing is, I meet so many people it’s hard to keep track of who is looking for what position, what skills they have, etc.

Recently I created an online form to help me keep it all straight, and so far I’ve received some great submissions from friends looking for positions in:

  • Marketing, Business Development, Community Development/Manager
  • Media Production, Community Development, Media Operations
  • Communications Associate, Copy Editor, Translator (Spanish), Administrative Assistant, Customer Service Rep, etc.
  • Content Manager/Copywriter
  • Account Manager/Project Manager/Event Coordinator
  • Entry Level Marketing & Management

(Fill this out if you have one of those positions to fill, and I’ll connect you!)

And right now I know some awesome startups/organizations looking for:

  • Community Marketing Ninja
  • Senior Graphic Designer (more print than web, if you can believe it!)
  • IT Director
  • Senior Product Manager
  • Senior UX
  • Account Executive
  • Program Manager

There are a few matches there already (yay!), but I also know the hiring process is tricky. While it’d be nice if the person I referred was a perfect match every time, I know there are many factors that go into making it a right fit.

Also, I realize it might be crazy of me to play this matchmaking game (with all my spare time – haha), but I’ve done it before, and honestly find it quite rewarding. I’m a natural connector/supercollider, and I love helping people find their next big move in life!

Anyway, all this is to say if you live in the Bay Area (SF, primarily), let me know how I can support you in your search for the right career match by filling out this form, and I’ll see what I can do!

Wishing you all the best on your search, wherever you are.

p.s. It kind of boggles my mind there’s not a website out there set up to help facilitate friends looking for apartments, jobs, etc. Yes, I know, there’s LinkedIn, but I don’t think it’s set up well for what I’m looking to do… and I’d like to go no further than 1 person away, connection-wise. Hmm. New startup idea? It needs to have the ability for people to edit it & say when they’re longer looking anymore. That’s where my form is definitely going to stop being effective. :/ It was just my attempt at getting it out of my inbox. I’ll probably keep updating this post just to keep it all straight.
