Between what we were and are going to be…
The present. The this. The already going that moves us forward.
A little train the could. A pedestrian putting one foot in front of the other, to get to the store, that meeting, a lover, a fateful doctors appointment.
As I move through the next few days, I prepare for this next thing. The trip I’m about to embark on that, in and of itself, is a catalyst propelling me to even more.
Last night I finally unpacked and put away the clean clothes from my last trip, just in time to pack again tomorrow for this one coming up.
The already going that moves us forward. The program that’s been announced which meant e-mails need to be sent, material needs to get finished up, and the cycle of promotion and inquiries and video production and collaboration is all alive and well and moving.
Yesterday I took a much needed day off to be in the in-between of “what we were & are going to be” to step into the present. Take a breath. Make space for serendipity.
The day started meeting up with a beautiful energy healer who is seeking mentoring and guidance as she builds her practice.
This comes easily for me and gives me such great joy. At the end, as we got up to leave, the woman sitting next to us stopped me to say she was at my talk on Friday and was so inspired.
Soaking it all in. There’s so much to say, and with this big adventure ahead of me I feel life change is coming. The unknown, like a big sparkly gift wrapped with a bow and enticing paper.
The lights glimmer in my eyes. The present is a gift, indeed.

I wrote this piece during Wild Writing; a writing group/workshop I have been attending every Monday for the last few months. Every week Laurie reads us a poem, and we get a few lines to jump off from… and then we fast & furiously free-write. This one was inspired by a poem called “So” by Phillip Booth.
