Tahoe Adventure

Well, I’ve got some good news & bad news. Let’s start w/ some good news:

Tahoe is AWESOME. God, it’s so beautiful… I can’t wait to post pics for you all.. I got some amazing ones yesterday… the weather has been amazing.

Snowboarding was fun yesterday – however I was a bit frustrated w/ how bad I’ve gotten, after not going at all last year and maybe once or twice the year before that. Matt (my ex) was never too into it, as he was still learning how to ski and not that good at it. So he never really wanted to go up, and when we would finally go, I always either waited for him every time or would have to go off on my own so I could jam down the hill.

I have been snowboarding since I was 12 (I grew up in Steamboat, CO – which is a resort town like Vail or Aspen if you’re not familiar) so for the most part I’ve been able to put down snowboarding for a year here & there and then pick it back up again with no problem. One of the last times I went, back in 2001 probably, I was in Steamboat and had my cousin & her boyfriend visiting – and her boyfriend was a hard core skiier so we hit some awesome runs together and kicked ass down the hill. (I’m best at just goin down the hill as fast as possible… it’s such a rush! You know – the rush of “oh shit, if I fall now I just might die” :)

Anyway – yesterday was frustrating trying to pick it up again because it was clear I was out of practice. Granted I was still bookin down the mountain, and not falling too much – but I just didn’t have the control I used to have when I went more.

Alright – so now for some bad news: I tweaked my knee really bad. :(

Ya see, I pulled this jump…. huge air, kick ass tight tailgrab – so tough, right?

Oh Alright – actually, it really wasn’t pulling some rad jump. Instead, I frickin tweaked my knee doing the hardcore move of “getting off the chairlift.” (grr!!!)

The damn rental boards we got didn’t have grip pads in the middle (blame :) so as we’re getting off the chairlift (only the 2nd of the day!!), all of a sudden my boot slipped off the board and caught the snow, and my strapped in right foot kept goin. So my left foot went out to the side and snapped my knee sideways. OW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It hurt SOOOOOO BAD!!!! I immediately went down and thought for SURE I had just totally blown my knee out. It all happened so fast but next thing I knew I was on the ground in EXCRUCIATING PAIN. :*(

Rick came over to me and unstrapped my other foot and there was a ski patrol right there talking to me.

After about 2 minutes (of pure pain & fear that I had just totally frickin ruined my knee over such an idiotic thing), I tried to bend it – and low & behold I could!!!! So I got up.. and actually could stand on it (!). I talked to the ski patrol chic about what I should look out for – and she asked me a whole bunch of times if I had heard it pop. And I don’t know if I heard it – but the thing most DEFINITELY popped out to the side and then snapped back in. My youth and elasticity are really all I got workin for me here :)

It still hurt, but I was bound to keep up with the day, and impressed as all hell that I could still frickin bend it and stand on it – so I decided to keep boarding for awhile and see if it’d be ok. But, by the end of the day there was no ignoring the fact that it was hurtin pretty bad. The good news is that it never got swollen, which apparently is the true tell tale sign that something is really f*d up.

So, where am I now? 1:30pm on a beautiful sunny Sunday in Tahoe? Yup. In the cabin. I knew I couldn’t go boarding – as I can actually hardly walk. I’m limpin and had a really hard time sleeping lastnight since I can’t really straighten it. The inside of my knee (where the bone was pushed out or whatever) is really sore to the touch. So I think it’s just super aggravated… :( I hate having an injury – I’m really no good at being anything less than 100%.

However, the kick ass news is that Rick stayed at the cabin w/ me :) (partly due to not wanting to mess his neck up more, since it was already outta wack from getting a kink and then continuing to lift all last week + slammin down 30 some times yesterday on the hill. He’s only gone boarding about 5 times now so he’s still getting some good “one on one time with the snow” :) So we’re just here chillin. We dropped Kat and the other 2 off at Alpine, took our boards back and got ourselves some yummy coffee. And now I’m here on Kat’s laptop, dialed up on AOL to check email and post a little something.

:::::

Lastnight was a blast… we all came back here & hopped in the hot tub first thing. aww yaaa. (I’m really just here for the “hot-tubbin”) and then we headed out to the grocery store to grab some food & beer for the night.

We made pizzas and had red wine – and my favorite: Bailey’s on ice!!! God damn I love this drink. I’m having one now as I type this and my leg is propped up w/ a snow ice pack, made by my personal Doctor here :)

Lastnight we got pretty toasted… With no good games layin around – and some miscommunication about who was supposed to bring the XBOX, we listened to music and I rummaged to find every last piece of scrap paper in the house to doodle on.

Our final hot tub of the night was a blast, complete with Jon singing us one of his new songs (he’s a musician and is willing to teach me bass guitar!!) at the top of his lungs – and hearing him go on about how OutKast is the best band around… it was absolutely hilarious.

So I sure hope this knee heals up ok – and I can hit the mountain again in February. For now though, I’m gonna go finish my Bailey’s and see what DVD’s they’ve got upstairs. Oh ya – and I’ll post photos tomorrow probably.

Hope ya’all are having a good weekend!

dinner time entertainment

Most people sit down and eat dinner in front of the TV. Me, however, I sit down & watch the internet.

Seriously (and sadly, I know – granted it’s no worse if not better than the TV!!), when I’m home – I eat breakfast, lunch & dinner in front of my fancy 19″ monitor :) It’s the one time during the work day that I actually let myself go catch up on blogs and “surf the net”.

So tonite after making myself dinner, I sat down & started going through my Blogroll and eventually found myself watching this cute animation, that is a rough draft of Scene 1 for this cartoon Big Bang by Victor Navone. It had me cracking up out loud!! It’s so cute… I can’t wait to see the finished piece. (and how fun are his little voiceover sounds? Awesome!!)

Now the best part – how I found that! (always a string of internet-tangents :)

I found that animation on this great site: Animwatch.com which I found a link to from RobotJohnny.com which I found a link to from Loobylu.com!

:::::::::::::::

Ok, enough surfing – I’ve got to shower, pack & get outta here to go drop in on a bday party real quick. Then it’s home to bed because we’re going up to Tahoe tomorrow w/ Kat! woohoo!! I’m so psyched to finally get some snowboarding in! (and hot tubing at the cabin afterwards – aww yaa!!!)

so what is the deal with you and Rick anyway?

I am getting this question almost daily… (!) So here’s a recent IM (somewhat modified) to clear it all up.

(sorry Rick, you’re so exposed here in my world eh? Act like I didn’t write this :)

Friend: so what is the deal with you and Rick anyway?

Friend: if you don’t mind me asking..

Willo: umm… well…

Willo: I’m in a place where I don’t want anything serious..

Willo: I had a boyfriend for a long time, ya know? so right now I’m just wanting to have fun.

Willo: so do I have a boyfriend? NO.

Willo: but am I having a great, great, *great* time w/ the best concert/party buddy EVER?

Willo: YES. :)

Friend: nice

Willo: yes. ’tis good.

Willo: So if you must know – I still say I’m single (for my own mental appeasement)

Willo: but essentially “my dance card is full” right now. And the best part is / is that its exactly every single thing I could need/want right now. He’s awesome (hence how much you’ve all heard a little more about him these days).

Bottom line is… Life is so GRAND!

Oh – and just to spill it all that much more, I must write about how Rick & I met. It’s, as I like to call it… Indie-Fantastic. :) I’ll write that later, though.

So now ya know!

Can you say S-U-P-E-R-H-O-T-T !?!

Oh. My. GAWD.

The SuicideGirls Live Burlesque Show was one of the hottest things I’ve ever seen. And guess where we were? FRONT ROW BABY!!!!!!!! Which was the HOTTEST place to be, since they did all kinds of moves on the floor, right before our eyes.

My friends Rick, Jem, Darren & I were all there – and I even met Kat’s friend Christian who I recognized from her photos! I think the entire time everyone’s jaws were dropped to the floor and our eyes were like this: O O !!

What a GENIUS idea to put these girls on tour. Tatoo’d and pierced – dancing to kick ass songs. But not just dancing. PERFORMING.

Those 3 pics you see on that link above, they were there. The girl on top is named Snow, and she is totally sexxy – and has hot tatoos! The 2nd one down is Brandy (and hech hemm, she had the biggest boobies of them all) and that 3rd photo has to be the ass of Stormy, a super hot girl we all seemed to gravitate towards the most.

The girls (Snow, Brandy, Stormy, Violet, (sorry, missing 2 of them)) came out with electrical tape on their nipples… and did various “skits” throughout the night… The first one was a fantastic classic Burlesque act… and the chic’s body was amazing. She actually had a lot of ribs and tight abs, and it made me think Tiffany Bozic (who’s opening we hit before this show) would like this woman’s body.

So other acts were the beer guzzling “guy” (aka hot chic in guy-like clothes) drinkin’ budweiser out of a cooler… when his (hot) business woman girlfriend comes home (fishnets & all) and they start fighting (aka budweiser cans getting torn open and poured over glistening hot bodies)… And then there was the Punk girl “beats up” the cheerleader – hair pulling, tearing shirts off and all… and THEN there was the awesome gimp-like cat women … dancing and prowling and magnetically swirling around eachother, all to a Bjork tune.

I won’t even give away what the grand finale was for any of you who may go to the show – but let’s just say it involved ALL six ladies and Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. Ooohh yaaaaaa. Insane. HOTT little outfits, crazy hott little bodies and a rockin show!!!!!

:::::::::::

However, we have some serious feedback about their format. They had this other band Bloom (?) play with them – who admittably I didn’t think were that bad (actually now that I see their site, for some reason I don’t like them anymore hate them.) – but COME ON!!!! Who the hell wants to see 3 guys on stage play when we could have the SG’s up there? L-A-M-E!!! They even had the girls perform about 3 acts & then brought stupid ass Bloom up for another set. ?!?!? What the f* where they thinking? And there were WAAAYY too long of pauses in between each of the performances too – Take it from one act to the next ladies!! Sh*t – we all wouldn’t have cared if the whole thing was only 45 minutes if it was jam packed HOTT the whole time!

So the great news is though that Rogue Wave opened – and they rocked the house!! They were having SUCH a great time you could just tell! It was sooo fun! Graham (from Rogue Wave) even wore his hotty leather pants – that got ripped off by a SG later!! OH YA GRAHMMY!!! He was even wearing his pink & black “manties” in tribute of the SG’s… There is a polaroid of it somewhere and it’s HOTT!

After the show, all hot & bothered of course, we hit the Hemlock w/ the Rogue Wave peeps for some more drinks and to celebrate. Yummy beers, many laughs… what a fantastic night!!!!

p.s. photos of RW playing will be posted soon… Photos Posted!! New ones from my Girls Night Out & then ones of Jem & I – and Rogue Wave (although not the greatest, sorry!) at the Burlesque show! woohoo!!

The Simple Life

I have never watched this show – but just watched some videos on line – and I don’t even think I could stand watching the show. Those girls are annoying!

However, speaking of my high profile model lifestyle (ha) here’s the final ad. If you’re keeping track, that is. I’m glad they picked one where I am smiling.

Also today was G-g-g-g-rreeaaatt!!! (say like Tony the Tiger) cuz I got to go over to my awesome friend (and fellow web designer) Trina’s house and she showed me how to use Quickbooks!

Oh ya – I’ll get this whole small business thing down yet!! :)

this that & the other….

Alright… mostly for my own benefit of getting the word “Doood” off the first line in my blog, I will post something now.

First I will tell you that today I could really use some crank. Maybe it was the whole leaving the house thing that’s just made me all worn out and pooped today. But most likely it’s cuz I stayed up till 2:30am organizing the shit out of my house.

My office organization has gotten just a tad out of hand lately… and I’ve also come to that 7 month point of living in a house and the clutter has slowly started to build… and everything needs to be cleaned out again. SO I’m getting rid of a TON OF STUFF!!!!! Everything from my old pots & pans, pants, play-doh, CD’s, old stupid software CD’s, stamps, and much much more.

I went through all my “office supplies” drawers and cleaned em up so good I have one empty one now!! I’m officially storing really old files that don’t need to be taking space in my file cabinet all the while burning some CD’s for my Mom and getting her a package ready to go out the door, too!

Massive productivity went down lastnight.

::::::::

Before coming home and doing my Spring cleaning session, I had gone off to BAM and then met up with the girls for our monthly full moon’d Girls Night Out. We went to Bruno’s – that place is cool! I’d never been… and now I can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been on a Bailey’s kick lately. YUMM! It was nice to see all the girls & catch up w/ Hillary who just got back from Spain. Man oh man, I can’t wait to go traveling this year!

Tonite’s adventure’s should be fun. First I’m hittin Tiffany Bozic’s Opening at 111 Minna, where I’m meeting Jee, Darren and possible a few others. Then it’s off to the SuicideGirls Live Burlesque Show where Rogue Wave is opening! They won a contest to do so, quite the honor since that means they’ll be backstage with girls in super sexy lingerie! wowie! So should be quite the entertaining show – not to mention, great music!!

Ok, now that I’ve drank my coffee through writing this post, I’m feelin a little more ready to start my day. Can you believe it’s already Thursday!?
