hermits UNITE!!!

Doooood how cool is it that I seriously don’t even need to leave my house? Yes, you heard it right L&G’s! Willo has once again successfully holed herself up in her wee little cottage for almost 3 full days (again!). God, I LOVE IT! Seriously … I know it sounds crazy – but going out of the house is overrated! You have to deal with people and weather and traffic and all that stuff! And I know, cuz I’m out and about ALL. THE. TIME. So don’t worry – this kind of refuge only happens every once in a great while… and I’m happy as a pea in a pod.

(also don’t worry cuz it will come to an end when I have to leave at 5pm for BAM tonite)

So the cool thing is, is that I even went grocery shopping! Oh ya, lots-o-groceries, thanks to Safeway.com! The dude was so nice and they delivered it all right into my kitchen!! Which saves me the time going to the store, parking, dealing with it all, then coming home, double parking and the lugging all the way back & up my stairs. NICE!!!!!

Plus don’t you find you buy practically the same items over & over again? Well I do – and it’s cool cuz Safeway.com keeps your favorites so you just go in & click to order more.

And they won’t even let you tip them!! My delivery fee was only $5 – and they got most everything I ordered – Except the one not so good thing is that they gave me chicken breast “w/ ribs” (who the hell orders those?) instead of just normal chicken breasts. I also learned a lesson on the *size* of cheese I bought. Thank god I have a new Toaster Oven (Christmas prezzie!) cuz I’m gonna need to be melting a lot of cheese! But it’s cheddar cheese, which is quite possibly one of the best things ever!

The guy also assured me that they are doing *great* and Safeway’s makin lots of money… which is SOO great because I will GLADLY pay $5 for someone else to shop & lug all my groceries right into my kitchen – HOW KICK ASS IS THAT?!?!??!?!?!

And now that I have some food in the house, I’m gonna go have my coffee and breakfast now :)

Music Calendar Updated

Ok, peeps – I’ve updated the music calendar (also on the left side of the homepage). 2004 seems sorta slow to get rollin so far (as far as bookings go), but I’m sure before we know it we’ll have full bills of kick ass shows to hit. wahoo!!

I myself am only goin to a few listed over there on the left – vs. every. single. one. of them! – but the ones I’m checkin out I am looking forward to. I also haven’t listed things that I either don’t know enough about the bands and/or even though I know em, I am not planning on going. So sorry – I’m not your one stop resource, it’s rather “willo focused” :) However, I got your back still cuz I have a list of venue’s & calendar’s & such on my links page under SF Music Scene. Not all of em out there I’m sure, but rest assured, seek & you shall find.

wired

jezus, is anyone – or everyone – as wired as I am today? what’s going on!? I’m flying out of my SEAT!!!

Maybe it’s from the awesome phone meeting I had with my 2 fellow creative business women friends this morning.

We were on a roll at the end of last year, having a call every Friday… but now, we’re all very busy & we’ve pulled it back to once or twice/month – but I have truly loved having their help… We discuss everything from contracts to time management to “how to say no”, etc. :) The format is that each of us would have about 15 minutes to talk about what challenges we were facing & report what we were working on… and then at the end we’d go over our goals for the week! It was super helpful to have others to talk to specifically about my business… and it’s fun to support them and hear about their successes too.

Girl Power!!!

Speaking of Inspiring Women in Business, I was just asked to be a featured cover/gallery artist on this site: Empowerment4Women.org Neat, huh? It won’t go up till July/August… so I’ll keep you posted when it does, but wanted to share the site now for those of you out there who are interested.

Also – while I’m at it I’ll post 2 business efficiency tips that us girls talked about this morning:

  • TimeSlice: Time Tracking and Billing Application
I use this program to keep track of my hours when I’m working with a client. The Windows software is actually really crappy – the Mac version is way slicker. (I might even try to find a better program, cuz the Win version doesn’t do reporting and organization very well at all.) BUT since I work with all my clients hourly, it is a cool way to have a “stop watch”.

It’s set up so that I just hit start, and select my client from a pull down list, along with what type of work I’m doing for them (you set up the program with how the hourly rate is per client for each specific type of work) and I can leave notes about what I worked on, too. Then I cut & paste that out & into my invoices every month.

  • Beth recommended Planner Pad. She got one & says she loves it. It seems like a great way to keep your tasks organized… I myself have long daunting lists everywhere – I need to get myself one of these!

Ok, back to work!!

christ, my ass is numb

it’s time to get up from the computer now. 12 hours later.

scarily I wish I didn’t have to sleep though, because I could sure use 8 hours to catch up before tomorrow starts.

This is what I get for taking that {luxurious} time off over the holidays… but wow, were they nice!!!!!

ok – night ya’ll.

p.s. my fingers are numb too cuz man has it ever been cold here lately!! brr!

scary growth hormones

Ok. I go to my pantry to get myself some cereal… and what do I find? ANTS!!!! Those little F*ERS!!!!! Mass genocide went down on those little shits… Can’t someone notify Ant Headquarters and let them know they’re NOT ALLOWED!!!!!!!!!!! in my house!!!!!

Anyway – I was forced to eat the scary “big apple” because all the ants had gotten into my cereal. And now I’m afraid I’m growing at an alarming rate.

My head is almost about to hit the ceiling, and I can’t fit in my Aeron chair anymore… and I’m having to type this with a pen because my fingers are too big to type on the keyboard. I don’t even think I can fit out the door!! OH NO!

missing mark morford

:( Life is sad when I’m too busy to read Mark Morford’s Morning Fix anymore. You should go read it for me.

Once again why I need some sort of “portable internet reader”. Do they make those kinda thangs? (ha)

Also – if you live in NYC, you should go to this event. Mostly cuz it’d be sweet to be around a bunch of fellow anti-dumbass-Bush peeps – but also cuz Janeane Garofalo is so COOL!

My bro stops by – Kazoo & Scout meet

My brother, Max, was supposed to be here Friday night, but while driving back from Colorado they hit major snow storms which delayed their arrival till Saturday. Him, Kyle & his friend Ryan stopped by with Max’s dog Scout.

Since it was all rainy I let Scout come in for awhile. She’s a good girl. So good that she even let Kazoo corner her in the kitchen! :p

Anyway, it was good to see him before he headed back down to Santa Cruz. My brother rules!!!
