Tonite Jee showed me this cool thing on Yahoo’s Travel site – check it out!
I have been wanting to go to Greece, but fares are turning out to be around $700 – and I guess I was hoping I could find those off season rates a bit lower. However, it’s good to know it’d be inexpensive once I got there. This yahoo tool is neat though cuz I can see how inexpensive fares are around Athens, just in case I wanted to fly somewhere close and then just see about getting inexpensive travel within Europe.
BTW – I posted aaall the photos from Aimee’s visit. And you know the sweet older man at the coffee shop, that I posted about? Well, Aimee taught him how to make a Cubano! Aimee’s a barista at Fair Grinds in New Orleans, so by her definition a Cubano is a way to sweeten up the Espresso drink by putting some raw sugar between the espresso grinds before you tamp it. (oh my gawd I’m so going to start using this dictionary site)
Anyway – here’s a photo of George and his wife, Frida. Cute huh!? :)
Saturday night’s photos truly capture what a fun time we had. Check out the beautiful views of the bay as the sun went down and how close we were to Coit Tower! Amazing.
After Brendan’s we went down to North Beach & hit some dive bar (where I scored big – hahaa) and then of course finished the night at Specs, which is one of my favorite bars. We also had some delicious hit-the-spot pizza around midnight or 1am. Mmmm! Quite a fun night.
Tomorrow I have someone coming to look at the Trooper. woohoo!
Here’s a funny blog my friend Eric sent me.
p.s. for all you out there who are losing your hair, read this hilarious post. His most recent post is really funny too.
I look up the meaning & spelling of words several times a day. I guess my vocabulary is growing, and whats more is I finally have a desire to know the words I’m using are correct (as I am known for just making up words that seem to fit for what I’m trying to say). Whatever it is, I’m loving looking up words lately!!
I don’t go for the Word of the Day personally. Instead I like finding myself needing to use a certain word, so I look it up to make sure it’s spelled correctly and to learn what the exact definition is. As many of you writers and word geeks can relate, vocabulary is facinating!!
Today’s word I looked up is convivial. As in “…looking for a convivial meeting place for old friends?”
I was stirred to go look up this word after seeing it on The Last Supper Club’s website. I’m planning to go there this week with a friend I ran into a week or so ago & hadn’t seen in 9 years!!! It’ll be my first time trying this restaurant. I heard it’s good and is just getting better, so I’m looking forward to it!

Today is my lovely friend, Jee’s birthday. This girl has the most beautiful smile and cutest laugh! I wish you all the best today, sweet Jee!!
Wanna buy my Trooper?
Yes I drive an SUV. (gasp!) But not for long. I’ve been wanting a Subaru Outback, so that’s what I plan to get after I sell this.
I was thinking about getting a hybrid.. and even wrote to Subaru to see if they are planning to come out with one. They wrote back and said yes! …but not for a couple years apparently.
Anyway – buy my trooper!
I’ve updated the previous post w/ related links
Every time I write about Friday’s I want to put in that quote from that movie, Friday.
So yesterday I stayed busy quickly putting together this site for my friend, Michelle. There’s a lot more content that will be added soon, but she just wanted something basic to get her started.
Lastnight we went bar hopping “like back in the day”… :) First Zeitgeist, then Casanova where Sarah and her friends met up with us – then on our way to the El Rio we stopped at The Pheonix where we ran into Hil & Ev. THEN we tried to go to Doc’s Clocks, but didn’t get very far and decided we’d just go for hittin the El Rio… but after FINALLY getting there, realized there was a cover so went over to the Argus.
So much more to say about everything that went on…. what a night.
Today Aimee & I got coffee – and I got a fancy coffee drink!!! Short soy latte extra shot, with Irish cream. Or the Starbucks way to say it is “Short double shot irish cream soy latte.”
OK – Jee’s here – off to Brendan’s for a BBQ and then to hit North Beach! will link later gators! bye!
aaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! scaary!!!!!!!
update – Wow, wild. It was a 3.9! If you felt it too, you can report it here.
If you search “Custom Wall Painting” on Google, I come up #4! Nice.
shameless plug: If you or someone you know is a good lead for a custom wall painting business, lemme know! Truly though, I love to hear people’s ideas.
Speaking of chatting with great minds who think alike, we went into Ruby Gallery today and I love talking to the owner, Laura, there. I’ve been in once before and we chatted away then too. She and I are so similar in wanting to do our crafty/artistic projects FT… (and thinking entrepreneurially about them!). I love talking about all my ideas and all the possibilities… it’s suprising how hard it has been for me to find like minds like that. That said, I’m definitely gathering an amazing group of like minded friends these days. It’s awesome to have a group of friends you feel supported and loved by – and we can connect on so many levels about music, life and creativity. You know who you are, you kick ass peeps you!!!
Anyway – the Ruby Gallery (Ruby is named after Laura’s sweet lil’ black pug btw) is having a cool event next Friday night for Maude O., Deborah Tanaka’s line of clothing and accessories, which is ideal for all you pug lovers!!
