My dear friends Kristin & Dave had a beautiful, healthy baby boy named Ronin! I finally got to meet him the other day, and he’s so zen & chill… which makes sense because his parents are, too! :)
He makes the cutest inquisitive faces & I’m sure he’ll only recognize me next time by the shiny silver camera I have out snapping so many photos of him! heehee

Ali, Amanda, Jess & I all met at the Mark Hopkins (where Jess was staying all week) for a delicious bottle of champagne at Top of the Mark & watched the sun set over our beautiful city!
Thanks to SonicLiving – sonicliving.com aka best show calendar site evar! – we got a whole slew of tickets to go to the Download Festival!
We caravaned down three cars and enjoyed playing, lounging & listening to great music in the sun! Such a blast.
Then that evening we kept the party going at the Kilowatt, celebrating Harry’s being in town & 30th Birthday – Happy Birthday Harry!
It’s also been so great having our good friend Jess in town all week! yay!
Super good times. I heart my friends!!

My cousin, Tom & his oldest daughter (oldest of his 6 kids!), Ashley, came to visit for a whirlwind 24 hours. They’re both from Warsaw, Indiana – where my Mom grew up and where all of my Aunts, Uncles & cousins still live.
Tom is my oldest cousin, and Ashley is the oldest of all of her cousins! She’s 18 and just graduated high school and is off to college – Congrats Ash!
It was their first time in San Francisco, or even seeing the Pacific Ocean, and my first time ever having one of my cousins – or any of my Indiana family members, for that matter – come & visit me out here! *hint hint* :)
Here’s what we did for the 24 hours they were here:

Saturday Cam (ceedub) & Felicia had their annual birthday party/sloshball game in Golden Gate Park, and it was SOO FUN!
For those who don’t know… Sloshball is basically kickball + beer. At all times you have to have at least 1/2 cup full of beer, and you have to keep it in your hands at all times – that means when you run, catch the ball, pitch the ball, etc. And then when you get to 2nd base, you have to chug the beer you have & get a new one delivered before you can move on. So you can pretty much imagine how this game just gets more & more fun as the game goes on.
You might think this is just all fun & games, but rest assured, playing sloshball correctly involves very meticulous strategy:
Last week I hit the Air Guitar Championships @ the Independent for the third year in a row. As always, it proved to be completely hilarious and entertaining.
Also, I’m officially an air guitar groupie. :) Afterwards I went back stage & got my photo with the badass MC, Bjorn to Rock, the former US Air Guitar Champion Hott Lixx Houlihan (I will fix this spelling later), another awesome air guitar guy who enters every year (and also works the door at the Indy… he was so cute when I wanted a photo with him, he goes “you remember who I am?” haha yes! :) and last but not least – the winner of this year’s San Francisco Air Guitar Championships Shreddly Bagly Junior! (or something like that – again I’m in a hurry so I’ll fix this name later) Thing is – because of his tshirt the whole room pretty much just renamed him AWESOME… (see photo above) :) and that he was! wahoo!
Yes, this would be the result of said (previously blogged) beach day! :) My tan lines are quite impressive, but Aubrey’s red in this photo takes the cake! hah!
This is us last night at Melody’s house in lower pac heights for a BBQ celebrating her little sister, Summer’s 21st bday. Golden bday: 21 on the 21st!
I stayed maybe an hour, and then headed over to S.N.O.B. wine bar (SNOB stands for Sonoma Napa or beyond) where my friends Manlio, Ron & Mat were playing their debut show, performing some of the songs they’ve been writing & rehearsing over the last few months!
They were GREAT! Truly exceeded my expectations. No offense guys, but hey… you never know with these kind of things! :) Seriously, I was very impressed!
They’re all very talented and are so at home expressing themselves through music. Very inspiring to watch! I knew Ron sings & had heard him before, but I had no idea that Manlio was going to sing, too – and wow, he has a great voice as well!
Congrats you guys… I loved every single song & can’t wait for the next show!

After that I debated going home & decided to stop by LAC (latin american club – a bar in the mission) where Kim said she’d be & where I saw Ryan & Ali check in. When I got there, not only did I see them, but Cam, April and Elise were there too! yay!

Yesterday was super hot here in SF, but absolutely PERFECT on the beach just south of Pacifica!
Aubrey, Ali & two puppies came & scooped me up & the trip down Hwy 1 began! We stopped in Pacifica for lunch first, and then proceeded down to the beach where we laid out in the sun, lazily read magazines & chatted about all the fun that went down at my bday surprise party the night before.
Then, our pals Ryan, Cam & April showed up & joined us too! yay! This is my favorite photo of the day… awesome huh?
It’s so rare we actually get to go to the beach here – or should I say, go to the beach & not be wearing sweaters & mittens :) – so yesterday was the perfect way to ring in the summer!
