I am so thrilled to be one of the speakers at the upcoming Conference of Creative Entrepreneurs (CCE), happening August 5th – 7th, and I love that it’s happening right here in San Francisco! This conference completely aligns with my outlook on creative sustainability and keeping your small business balanced with your creative passion.
The lineup is incredible; I’m honored to be among so many amazing minds and talented speakers. I’m currently slated to take part in five (!) talks – UPDATE: I just posted all the descriptions for the sessions I’m contributing to! – but selfishly hope that doesn’t get in my way of learning from some of my favorites in the industry. ;) Some of those friendly faces are:

Jaime Zollars, who is one of my favorite illustrators and we’ve become friends through all of the craft shows we’ve done together over the years (where we’ve also done many product trades, as we’re both total fans of each other’s work!). I’ve known Crafty Superstar, Grace Dobush, since Craft Con 2008, and it’ll be great to see her again, along with Shayna Kulik, who I just met at Altitude Design Summit in January!

Loving that I get to share the bill with the fabulous Jenny Hart & Diane Gilleland again (we’ve all led talks at Hello Craft’s Summit of Awesome), and soak up some of that incredible Erin Loechner energy… or as Helen Jane calls her, PocketLoechner (because she’s seriously so cheerful, loving & bright you just want to put her in your pocket)!

On top of being thrilled about rubbing elbows with some of my creative pals, including locals, Sherry Kelly & Lisa Congdon, I’m also looking forward to re-meeting powerhouses Joy Deangdeelert Cho & Meg Mateo Ilasco, both of whom I think I’ve met in passing but haven’t had a chance to really get to know.

All that said, those are just some of the few friendly faces I know who are speaking. The best part is getting to meet all the incredibly talented and inspirational attendees! Conferences are my favorite for this reason… the opportunity to make friends and exchange information with creative minds from all over the world is pretty much the best thing ever.  Oh, August, hurry up & get here already! :)
